Customer Feature: Insulating a Pole Barn Structure

Pole Barn reflective insulation This week I would like to share some photos sent to us by one of our customers. He first contacted us because he was building a shop and wanted an affordable insulation that would keep out the heat in the summer, keep it warm in the winter, and prevent condensation all year long. For this project we suggested EcoFoil double bubble foil/white reflective insulation.

For this new pole structure, we suggested  double bubble Foil/white reflective insulation to be installed on the framing underneath the exterior sheeting. The insulation will naturally sag between the rafters and sidewall girts, creating an air gap. The air gap created when combined with the double layer of bubbles within the insulation prevents condensation and thermal conduction.  For more information see our installation instructions.

Pole Barn reflective insulationEven before construction was completed, our customer exclaimed at how effective it was at keeping the building cool in the hot southern sun. In addition to keeping heat at bay, the insulation is already preventing condensation.

An added bonus is that the white polyethylene face gives the interior of the shop a nice crisp clean appearance. EcoFoil is 100% waterproof, which means you can easily clean it to keep it looking new for many years to come.

Pole Barn InsulationIf you have an existing pole building that has no insulation you can add easily add EcoFoil to keep out the heat and stop condensation. Retrofit applications are simple and just as effective as the method seen above. All you need to do is install the reflective insulation on the inside of the framing.
